
Marie LeClaire is an accomplished novelist specializing in Magical Realism, based in Massachusetts. With six published novels and four anthologies to her credit, she captivates readers with her imaginative storytelling. Marie's work explores the intersection of the ordinary and the extraordinary, drawing inspiration from her surroundings and experiences. Known for her collaborative spirit, she actively works with local authors on innovative projects, including a new anthology. Since her debut, Marie has garnered a loyal following, making her a prominent figure in the literary community.
Marie grew up in Massachusetts and at 18 she joined the U.S. Air Force. She has a BS in Earth Science and a MA in Counseling Psychology. Surrendering to her restless spirit, she has lived many places across the US including California, New Mexico, Florida, Virginia, New Hampshire, Maryland, and Alaska.
She’s been a baker, a camp counselor, a bus driver, a 911 dispatcher, a land surveyor, an architectural and civil engineering drafter, civil engineering tech, a courier, bed and breakfast owner, and, for most of her life, a mental health counselor. She publisher her first novel in 2018. In addition to counseling and writing, she edits for a popular speculative fiction magazine, MetaStellar. She currently calls Massachusetts home.
Writing in a genre called magical realism, she looks for life’s synchronicities and asks, “Coincidence or magic?”
