Kip Koelsch
Sci Fi
Kip Koelsch is the author of two award-winning technothrillers, Wendall’s Lullaby and Delphys Rising, The Saga of the Cerulean Universe Trilogy (science fiction/space opera), TRINARY (a collection of three speculative fiction short stories), and The Peculiar Affliction of Thomas Wade Duncan (historical fiction with a witchy twist).
Koelsch got his start writing “books” with crayons in Mrs. Cook’s second grade class in Leonardo, NJ. A one-time freelance magazine writer, he currently blogs about writing, critical thinking, outdoor adventure sports, paddling and his current fiction projects. Koelsch has an undergraduate degree in Journalism and Mass Media from Rutgers University in NJ and a master’s degree in Humanities and American Studies from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL.
A deep love for the environment, and the oceans in particular, started as a young boy–nurtured by The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau, National Geographic Magazine and the family’s vacation trips to the beach at Anna Maria Island, Florida, and tent camping at Lake George, New York. That love for the natural world continued with Koelsch’s move to Florida in 1989–where has volunteered for the marine mammal program at Mote Marine Lab, headed a manatee education program, taught a variety of college environmental studies courses, and explored many of the state’s waterways, parks, forests, and preserves by kayak, foot, and bicycle.
