Adrienne Wilder

I am a writer of contemporary and speculative fiction and artist of all things monster. I live to create new worlds and the people in them. Several of my books have been best sellers both nationally and internationally.

I do my best to write original stories with powerful characters and emotions as well as a fast-paced plot. My goal isn't just to deliver a good story but to take the reader into the story and let them experience the characters as if they are right there with them.

While almost all my books have a romantic element, I will be the first to admit, they are not traditional romance. In fact, I'd like to think there is nothing traditional about them. And the stories I paint are done so way outside the lines of traditional genres.

One of my favorite things to do as a writer is push the boundaries of what makes a story and to deliver the unexpected and maybe even change the perspective of the reader.

My characters are more often than not, beautifully flawed, not always the good guy, and make mistakes. Their stories will take dark turns which, in the end, make the light at the end of the tunnel all the brighter.

I can't even begin to tell you how good this book is. As a person that enjoys and is attempting to write about the paranormal, this was definitely a five star read. It was filled with love and the scary and even some mathematical, scientific jargon that I couldn't begin to retain, it made it all feel so real. The love between the two MCs and then three was literally unworldly. There is definitely an HEA but I'm not going to say between who. Read it. It's a shocking, lovely story that I'm not going to forget.

This is a dark, erotic romance that is not for the faint of heart. I love dark and gritty romances, so this book was perfect for me. Kaleb is an innocent young man whose father sells him to a secret organization in order to settle a debt. Kaleb knows nothing about this situation until Leo arrives to collect him. The chemistry between Leo and Kaleb is spectacular. The sex scenes are kinky and intense and everything I want out of dark, kinky sex. I’m already addicted to this series.

Overall Rating: 5 Stars. I love the writing, I love the characters, but most of all, I love the dark, kinky sex. It left me wanting more.

This book took me by surprise. I really, really dislike science fiction. I don't know why. It's just a genre I don't seem to relate to.

I only purchased it because of the ecstatic user reviews. Please add mine to those. Somehow, "Seven" changed my mind about the whole genre.

The book was wonderfully well-written, ingenious, with just enough fact to make the science fiction almost plausible. The sex was great - explicit, but not overdone. But what really drives this book are the characters. Seven, initially mistaken by Chase to be a paranoid (with foil on his head, and all the rest) turns out to be a charming, naive, sexy and beautiful young man. Chase has had the week from hell, fired from his job as an investigative reporter for plagiarism (which he didn't do), relegated, by a misleading ad, to an apartment where his only company would be the mice, and close to desperate. The two meet in the hallway and, well, the rest is the book.

Of course, Seven is not a paranoid. He is a science "experiment" escaped from the lab of the totally evil megalomaniac, Dr. Stone. There is a terrific action/suspense story propelled by the imperative to stop this monster before he hurts any others. And the hapless Chase gets roped into it. It's not too much of a spoiler to hint that he was always a part of the plan - he just didn't know it.

There are many moments in the book that will move you profoundly - this book contains many illustrations of the most profoundly deep love, the ultimate illustration of Plato's "other half" theory. These relationships that survive even torture and imprisonment are selfless, stirring and beautiful. We root for the heroes from the very first pages, and our heart soars with their love for each other.

I cannot say it strongly enough - buy this book! It is unique, powerful and beautiful, all at the same time.

Reviews:Lexicdark on Amazon wrote:

This book has all the feels and you are going to get dragged into it quickly. So first you have Jon, who ran from a horrible situation and found himself in a random no name town. But he has had enough, and it's time to end it all. But then Rudy sits down on the bench next to him and starts talking, about nothing. And Jon doesn't want to off himself with someone sitting right there... so he waits, while Rudy keeps talking. But where there is Rudy, there is Ellis, who finds them shortly after to take Rudy home. And then the worst possible thing happens to Jon, Rudy wants ice cream, and his brother says 'no', and suddenly Jon wants to buy Rudy ice cream. Jon starts agreeing and making future plans, which is the worst thing when you are trying to kill yourself.

Seriously, no spoiler tags because that is the first few pages of the book, not even all of Chapter 1. Rudy is a grown adult, but due to illness as a child, has stayed that way. Ellis is Rudy's little brother, who has been caring for Rudy since their parents died. Jon just randomly gets pulled into their world. Ellis does just about everything to get Jon to go away. There are rules and structure Ellis has put in place so he and Rudy can stay together. They don't have much, but Ellis will always take care of Rudy, no matter what. Jon is a little broken. The best part, neither Rudy or Ellis fix Jon, they just help him learn how to be himself again.

This books will hit you in all feels, with all the things. People and small towns can be horrible. But there are good people there, but you have to find your family and protect them from all the bad. And maybe Jon and Ellis are enough to protect Rudy.

Melyssa Winchester on Amazon wrote:

It's not very often I can sit down after reading a book and say that I loved it so much from the moment it started that it was a 5* read off the jump, but I can definitely say that here. I knew at 5% what I would end up rating this book just based on what the author had put forth at this point and it only raised higher still with everything that came after.
This is not an easy story to read, even though it flows so effortlessly it does feel easy in that way. There are real issues tackled in this story that not a lot of others like it take on and they're written about in a way that shows a lot of care by the author. The characters because of these issues jump off the page and become real the more pages you turn until suddenly, the story is over and you're wondering how it happened.
Rudy endeared himself to me immediately and even now stepping away from it, he's still here. I'm not sure if it's because I have three developmentally challenged children of my own that did it, but the way Rudy is with me now, I want him to stay that way forever. Such a wonderfully refreshing character and the one bright spot in this very sad story.
My heart ached for Jon and Ellis both. They were both facing their own roads and issues and at times I wanted to stop reading just so I could hug the hell out of them. They deserved it, they earned it. They are two tragically beautiful characters and I'm so glad this book was recommended to me so that I could meet them. They've touched me in ways not a lot of characters have in the past.
The romance in this story was perfect. It was pretty close to magical in the way it transpired, especially due to Ellis's innocence of the world and Jon's knowledge of it. It was believable, paced so well that it seemed natural and the love scenes, while hot in some aspects, touched my heart as much as the characters themselves did. There was love in these pages, even before the characters wanted to admit to it and it was beautiful.
There was mention of a paranormal aspect to this, but I didn't get that feeling at all from what I read here. What Rudy is able to do, honestly with how truly amazing people who have special needs are, it seemed like a natural thing to me for him to be able to just "know" things the way he did. It added even more awesomeness to his character quite frankly.
I cannot say enough good things about this book. It's a definite must read by everyone, whether you're a fan of m/m romance or not. The story alone speaks to it.
I want to give this more stars, but for now 5 is going to have to do!
Brilliant read!

I loved this book! This isn't for the faint of heart or for someone wanting a fluffy paranormal book. It's gritty, raw,...it grabs you by the throat and runs with you for the whole book. The growth between Luca and Nox is a slow burn growth that is instinctual and primal but with a kind of innocence to it. The 2nd storyline, that runs along with the 2 main characters, does an awesome job answering a lot of questions and opening a ton more questions. This is definitely a HFN and personally I can't wait for book 2!
