This is a short story and the first completed in a collection to be called "The Fairy". Due to the troubled times and "my age" I thought I'd better make it available.

Well, it's a love story, what else? And a fairy story in which a fairy features or at least a half fairy. There are strong female characters, a handsome prince, a king and a magician. There is a quite relaxed attitude to sex but nothing very explicit. And I hope it is magical for you.

Excerpt:

When the king's son was old enough and his seed flowing strongly his father sent out a declaration to all the kingdoms that lay beyond his realm. Let them send their daughters and their sons to meet his son with a view to a wedding and the creation of a new united kingdom. Many kings ignored the missive but many a duke  and a duchess rounded up their daughters, their sons and even some of their nieces  and nephews. They then sent them off to the king’s realm.

Now the magician had a daughter as plain as plain could be but as kind and wise as any queen. When she sang all who heard her would stop and smile. When she spoke, all nearby would stop and listen. When they looked upon her face they would shake their heads and sigh. There were those who whispered that the magician had lain with fairies and his daughter was his punishment. Anyone seeing them together saw no evidence of punishment, just a father’s love for his daughter. All who saw her agreed she was not pretty. All that is except for the prince who could see who she really was. He had no need to stop what he was doing when she passed him by as he had a secret and that secret was that she was the only one for him. He did not need to look at her to know a fairy’s child walked in her steps, a child of light and strength. He loved her face, her straight and narrow nose, her strong chin, her ears with their little pointed tips. Most of all he loved the smile and the laugh which she kept for him alone.

About the Author

Tony writes stories set in the multiverse, sometimes one with magic, sometimes not, but mostly with.  There are more often or not:

men in love with men,

women in love with whoever they chose and however they chose (I just let them lead me where they want to go as long as they at least try and put up with the men without ending them)

people of whatever gender they are blessed with.

Expect witches and shifters with problems to solve, fae with chips on their shoulders and put upon elves.
