I don't think I have just slowed down and read a book in awhile and being cooped up at home with covid in a heat wave this book was appreciated and I'm hooked.
I got a copy for my son for his birthday since he's the same age as the main character and his wife immediately started reading it before he could even get his hands on it.

So many people seem to have the idea that if/when we are visited by aliens, they will come bringing technological gifts or some higher form of spirituality. Well, this lot don't! At times I was afraid it was going to turn into a romance, but I just skipped those bits and the story didn't suffer!
