This. Was. Unbelievably. Cool. What a cool concept. I beta read this and had heard of the initial premise of it but the final act is unbelievable in its complexity and epic in its scope...it's nothing short of amazing! Roland, Byers, Renita, and especially Dr. Penny...such great characters! Dr. Penny deserves a book unto herself. This is a HUGE thriller and something that I think is going to really please lovers of historical fiction because it deals with such a sensitive topic. There are a ton of M. Night Shyamalan-esque Easter Eggs in each chapter that signify where it's going, helping the protagonist figure out what's actually happening. You have to look, but they're there. Brilliant! I could not recommend this book more highly: it was nothing short of amazing.

I don’t think I’ve ever came across a book that revolves around a “what if” situation, especially surrounding a historical event. This book seamlessly blends fiction with reality. It is a fast-pace, gripping plot that keeps you flipping the pages. Altering and preventing a tragedy is a very bold and imaginative story to write about; this author executed it perfectly! We really get a sense of who the main character is and his personality. I found myself wanting to know more and more about him. Getting an inside scoop of his thoughts made me connect to the story more. I highly recommend this read!
