She finds them. She warns them. She runs.
Rhea Ouranós delivers the same message to every alien civilization she comes across: The Hunters are listening.
They don’t invade or negotiate. Entire civilizations vanish overnight, collapsed into artificial black holes. No survivors, no exceptions. The only way to stay safe is to hide.
So when the Kouse—a seemingly primitive alien species—claim they can fight back, Rhea writes them off as already dead. Until they show her the impossible. Blueprints to build the exact weapon the Hunters use.
Teaming with an alien intent on befriending Rhea and a sassy AI, the three travel to a distant world to retrieve the needed materials. But as the plan spirals out of control, Rhea must confront her past. And the key to defeating the Hunters may be the only thing they refuse to show: mercy.
She Who Warns the Stars: A First Contact Sci-Fi Survival Novel is a character-driven space opera for readers of The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet and The Three-Body Problem—a story of found family and battling the impossible odds.

Maanvee M, Reviewer on Netgalley wrote:I had such a good time with this book. It has all the big space-opera stuff I love...first contact, alien civilisations, AI, black holes, political conflict, and world-ending weapons...but what really made it work for me was how much heart it had underneath all of that. Rhea is a strong, complicated main character, and I loved watching her assumptions get challenged as the story went on. Her relationship with Ga’Runa was probably my favourite part, especially the way Ga’Runa’s perspective slowly changes how Rhea sees other people and even herself.
I also really liked how the book handled grief, revenge, and the danger of turning fear into a whole belief system. The story gets surprisingly emotional without losing its humour or sense of adventure, and the flashbacks added a lot to the way everything came together. There were a few moments where I wanted the darker parts to breathe a little more, but overall I found this thoughtful, fun, and genuinely moving. Definitely one of those sci-fi books that gives you plenty to think about while still being very entertaining.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this!
Very well written book and loved the writing style . The characters and the plot were well written as well as description about the aliens was a fun concept to read as well. The book was page turner and the pace was good.
It was easy to read and gave a Star Wars feel mixed with bit of interstellar.
Also, the book encourages readers to check out NASA and European space centers research on Helium 3.
