Skylar’s Gift

A Prophecy Series Novella

by Lea Kirk

He’s kind. He’s gentle. He’s trouble.

Since childhood, Skylar Trimble has admired Maggie Bock from afar. Now, years later, her friendship is more than he ever expected, or deserves, especially after the terror his traitorous late father rained down on her family during the invasion. Dare he hope for more?

Maggie treasures the day Skylar slipped into her heart like a missing puzzle piece. But an accusation of murder doesn’t equate with the caring, unassuming man she knows. He’s innocent, and she's determined to prove it, with or without her family’s blessing—and damn the evidence.

Reviews:on Goodreads:

It’s sometimes hard to say what draws you in to a story, what keeps you turning pages. With Skylar’s Gift, for me it was the beautifully portrayed characters, the gentle steps of a relationship growing, the uncertainty of a person’s place because of old pain. Of course there’s a twist in there as well. Overall it was a most satisfying and heartwarming novel. And that’s in keeping with the rest of this wonderful series.

on Amazon:

Maggie Bock has been one of my favorite characters throughout the Prophecy series... In Skylar's Gift, Maggie has grown up and fallen in love with Skylar Trimble. The couple has their challenges as Skylar is half human/half Matiran with a deceased father who was a traitor and a reclusive mother who trusts no one. Lea Kirk excellently balances this story of young love with an unexpected murder.

on BookBub:

I love the idea of "nice guy" hero, and Skylar fits the bill perfectly. I really enjoyed the writing in this book--it flowed so nicely. This is one of those books where you can picture yourself in the scene. It's very visual. Great world-building.
