The Gorie Book 1: Rise of the Messiah follows the journey of a destined young figure whose life becomes the center of an ancient prophecy, one that promises either salvation or destruction for humanity. Born into a world fractured by violence, corruption, and supernatural forces moving in the shadows, the future “Messiah” must navigate a path he never asked for — a path written long before his birth.
As dark entities awaken and hidden truths surface, he is forced to confront a reality beyond the ordinary: spiritual warfare, prophetic visions, unexplained power stirring inside him, and enemies who fear what he is destined to become. Guided by a small circle of allies — and betrayed by those closest to him — he faces trials that will test not only his strength, but his faith, morality, and identity.
With every step, the question grows louder: Is he here to save the world… or remake it?
A story of destiny, sacrifice, supernatural conflict, and the birth of a leader who will change everything, The Gorie Book 1: Rise of the Messiah begins a gripping saga that blends spirituality, action, psychological tension, and cinematic storytelling. It sets the stage for a larger mythos — where prophecy meets reality, and the rise of the Messiah is only the beginning.

Prologue : THE Dark Covenant (1692)
“Archbishop, I beg of you,” Father Sabastian’s voice trembled, “do not proceed with this ritual. It’s an abomination, a madness that defies the natural order. We were not meant to create such horrors.”
Archbishop De Donatis halted, turned to face Father Sabastian, and spoke in a measured tone, “Father Sabastian, remember your place. All will be revealed in due time. Fear not, for history will erase our involvement. Come.”
As Archbishop De Donatis turned to continue walking, the front doors of the Church of Salem creaked open, revealing the night’s darkness. The Archbishop’s bodyguards stood at attention, their faces illuminated only by the faint moonlight.
At the bottom of the porch stairs, twelve priests stood in silence, their eyes fixed on Archbishop De Donatis.

Stephanie Martin on Goodreads wrote:I haven’t been this captivated by a book in a long time. This story goes far beyond your typical religious thriller it explores the fine line between belief and manipulation, good and evil, truth and deception. The scenes beneath the Vatican are chillingly vivid, and the historical details feel so authentic that I caught myself Googling terms and references. The author truly knows how to balance knowledge and storytelling. Fans of The Da Vinci Code will be obsessed, but The Gorie offers something even deeper: a look into what faith really means when the world around you is filled with lies.
Elizabeth James on Goodreads wrote:The Gorie: Rise of the Messiah deserves to be on every thriller lover’s shelf. It’s rare to find a book that has such a perfect balance of action, mystery, emotion, and intelligence. The writing is vivid, the dialogue sharp, and the message profound. By the time I reached the final chapters, my heart was racing I didn’t want it to end. This isn’t just a story about prophecy or religion; it’s about humanity, faith, and the eternal fight between light and darkness. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish.
Lacresha Green on Goodreads wrote:The Gorie: Rise of the Messiah is a gripping and brilliantly crafted thriller that grabs you from the very first page and doesn’t let go. Gerard La Marque blends biblical mystery, prophecy, and high-stakes suspense into a story that feels shockingly real and breathtakingly intense. Toby’s journey is powerful, emotional, and filled with twists you never see coming. This is storytelling at its absolute best.
Muhibb Nu'Ahim on Goodreads wrote:This book doesn’t just entertain it challenges you. It makes you think about destiny, belief, and what happens when divine prophecy collides with human ambition. I loved how the story combines ancient mysteries with modern-day conflicts, all tied together by one boy’s fate. It’s clear the author did serious research to make every detail feel real, from secret Vatican archives to the cryptic ancient scrolls. The pacing is perfect fast enough to thrill you, but deep enough to make you reflect. I can easily see this becoming a bestseller or even a blockbuster movie.
The Gorie: Rise of the Messiah pulled me in from the very first page and didn’t let go. The story is packed with suspense, mystery, and emotion all at once. Toby’s journey from an ordinary boy to someone caught in a battle of faith and destiny felt so real and intense. The author’s writing is cinematic; I could picture the ancient corridors of the Vatican, the secret rituals, and the looming sense of danger. Every chapter ended with a revelation that made me crave more. If you love fast-paced thrillers with deep meaning, this one is an absolute must-read.
